Kites..

Cast: Hrithik Roshan , Barbara Mori, Kangana Renaut , Kiran Bedi.

You can make a stunning movie with a very low budget like "Welcome to Sajjanpur" or you can waste enormous sums of money and end up making a Bakwas movie like Kambaqt Ishq.I'm sorry to say that Kites falls in the second category.Even though not as bad as Kambaqt Ishq, its still not a very enjoyable movie. It ultimately makes no point and fails to touch hearts as its script meant it to be.
J, played by Hrithik   is a dance teacher in vegas, who does an awful lot of illegal jobs to earn a little extra. He acts to have fallen in love with Gina(Kangana) to open the doors to the her wealth , her father being a very rich and dangerous Casino owner. And then he meets Gina's brother's Fiance Nathasha/Linda(played by Barbara). They fall in love and take off. The rest is the usual villain chasing Hero Scenerio...

Even the very versatile Hrithik Roshan fails to lift the crappy script. Though he charms the audiance with some spectacular dance moves and his glistening body, thats pretty much it....
The first half is completely hollow. the second half is also very boring. Even the car chase seems very drab and dragging.

Apart from a few good scenes, the "hollywood-like" camera work, there isn't much to anticipate.

In Ghost House Inn

Cast : Mukesh, Jagadeesh, Siddique, Ashokan
Director: Lal

Well when you turn up for a movie like this , you pretty well know its for the meaningless slapstick jokes, but for those who are a little bit interested in the technical aspect of movies, this might just come as a surprise!

The group returns this time to a haunted house bought  by Ashokan and decides to prove to the locals that its not a haunted house in order to develop a possibility of turning it into a resort. What follows is a seemingly meaningless dash to counter the ghost.

What interests me is the quality of graphics in the movie. For a Malayalam  movie it shows an immense growth. The opening scene and the ghost scenes are well shot. The Ghost, though strikingly similar to the one in "THE RING" in one of the scenes, shows a certain maturity when compared to other malayali ghosts:)! But the plot is again superficial and unbelievable at many instances.

The climax of the movie is another reason for its sinking. The Climax occurs so fast and in such an amateurish way it kinda brings the whole movie down.

It's not completely unwatchable. Jagadeesh  provides a decent dose of humor through the entire movie but still could have been a a lot more....

Sherlock Holmes

Cast: Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Mark Strong
Direction: Guy Ritchie
If you drooled over Robert Downey Jr. after watching Iron Man, get ready for some massive fan worship!
With Sherlock Holmes Downey gives his audience a treat!

Directed by Guy Ritchie, Sherlock Holmes is a Screen adaptation of the Ever-so-Popular Novel By Sir Conan Doyle. The whole movie is shot in a massive larger than life set! And Downey is just so marvelous!

Robert Downey Jr stars as the beloved private eye who's been reinvented as something of an action hero who leaps out of buildings, dodges explosions, and gets down and dirty in a violent bare-knuckle brawl. Along with his relatively reserved sidekick, the dependable Dr John Watson (played by Jude Law), he still solves crimes for a living, but the pair spends most of their time bickering{very enjoyable indeed!}.

The film's plot involves the villainous Lord Blackwood (played by Mark Strong), who after being arrested and executed for satanic practices in the film's opening scenes, somehow engineers his return from the dead and hatches a nefarious plot to rule the British Empire.

There's a kinetic energy to the action scenes that's vintage Guy Ritchie, and occasionally he employs his trademark super-slo-mo to the hand-to-hand combat scenes that instantly remind you of the best bits in both Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.

But on deeper thinking the plot  may seems ridiculous but after the movie you so stunned that you couldn't  care less about the logical loop holes !

Too much is happening all at once, and while that does throw you off occasionally, Sherlock Holmes is an enjoyable enough watch for the sheer charm of its two leads. Jude Law delivers a low-key yet elegant performance as Watson, giving his co-star all the room to shine. As the boozing, brawling Holmes, Robert Downey Jr is excellent. With the twitch of an eye or the subtle shift of a smile or a frown, he conveys a variety of feelings, and literally grabs the film from the word go.

Watch it if you didn"t, You wont be disappointed!

The Thomas Crown Affair

Cast: Peirce Brosnan ,Rene Ruso,Denis Leary
Directer: Jhon Mcterian

If ever you can use the word elegance in a movie, this is it.the whole plot is so elegantly crafted that you are thrown into a world of classy Conversations. And the music is so vibrant that it heeps you on the edge of your seats!

Thomas Crown (Pierce Brosnan) is a Enormously -rich Wall Street financier who gets absolutely no pleasure out of his profession. He takes to stealing artwork from high security museums . This time he confiscates a precious Monet worth $100 million. Hot on his tail is Catherine Banning (Rene Russo), a sultry insurance company investigator who is positive Crown is the thief. Working with an uptight New York City Detective (Dennis Leary), Banning breaks all the rules (and a lot of laws) to prove Crown's guilt. However Banning becomes so enthralled with the charming and debonair Crown that she falls for him big-time. What follows is a true cat and mouse chase between the police and crown that is sure to keep you on anxious the entire time!

Brosnan adds soul to the character. You cannot imagine anybody else to be so classy and so ELEGANT !  Rene ruso also did a fantastic job.

This movie, though a very simple plot, has a climax thats one among the best there ever was!

When Excellent music is mixed with an excellent piece of filmwork the result is just magical!
